The First Year, They Scare You To Death;
The Second Year, They Work You To Death;
The Third Year, They Bore You To Death.

Glimpses into the oh-so-exciting life of a 3rd year student at LSU Law School

Tropical Depression 5 making me nervous

If tropical depression 5 continues strengethening and heading toward the Gulf, I'll continue getting more and more nervous. We're 4 days shy of the 1-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Emotions are running ragged. New Orleans is in no way prepared for a hurricane right now, due in great part to the Corps of Engineers constant mistakes and inability to work within a schedule.

Keep the Gulf Coast in your thoughts this season.

Personally, I think most of NOLA's problems can be tracked back to "Chocolate City" Nagin and Louisiana's dipstick governor, but that's just me.

those are the socio-political problems. I'm talking about the fact that there still aren't functional pumps at the mouths of the canals a year later, not to mention that the levee is still partly sandbags rather than dirt or concrete!

We'll pray 24/7, and count on the Lord's mercy.

I agree, the forecasts look ominous. But it's much too far away to really know.
