The Food of Happyjoy

I'm blogging about Okra. Deal with it. Lots of people don't like okra, but I absolutely adore it. It's full of delicious wonderfulness. Raw, it's crisp like a snapbean. Brrrled, it's soft and creamy. Fried, it's pure happyjoy for your mouth. You can boil it with crawfish, cut it up and put it in cornbread, fry it and serve it like popcorn, add it to jambalaya or seafood gumbo ... the possibilities are endless.

Further on the subject of food, I need to get rich and famous soon, so I can get a bbq grill and a food processor.

Okra. I haven't liked okra ever since I tried growing it in my garden almost 30 years ago. It was the one thing that actually grew. And grew. And grew. The frost finally killed it.

Woulda made a good story -- "The Okra That Ate NC".
